QWERTY's learning specialists provide formal cognitive and academic evaluation of students of all ages, including college and adult. Our expertise is in the assessment of the academic challenges a student may be facing in school so that we may develop a fuller understanding of the students learning profile and devise practical strategies for improvement.
Each evaluation is tailored to the individual. A credentialed learning specialist and/or an educational psychologist will complete the assessment, depending on the case. QWERTY does not provide mental health assessment services nor does it provide multidisciplinary assessments for severe disabilities.
Evaluation can provide a basic measure of achievement and/or aptitude, or it can take the form of on-going, in-depth diagnostic testing combined with instruction. Typical evaluations include a review of other existing data followed by formal and informal assessments, written report production, and conferencing as needed. Such testing may be used to document eligibility for special education services, classroom accommodations, or alternative testing procedures. Evaluations are often requested in preparation for college or private secondary school applications.
We find that nearly all students enjoy the process of educational evaluation. They benefit from the time spent in a one-to-one relationship with a knowledgeable, objective, and caring professional who helps them to see more clearly how their minds work-- someone who can help them take pride in their strengths and give them practical strategies to help them meet their goals.
You can discuss your educational testing concerns and find out how we can help address them by making a call to QWERTY. There is no fee for an initial telephone consultation with a knowledgeable learning specialist who can help determine relevant considerations for your situation.
